MINISTRY APPLICATION STEPS

    Step 1: Apply

    This application is for anyone 11 years of age or older interested in working with children and/or minors at Wayside. Anyone under the age of 17 must have additional guardian permission to submit this application.

    All applicants must provide two references (non-relatives).

  • Step 2: Learn

    Familiarize yourself with the Wayside “Basic Safety Policy.” You will be asked to acknowledge understanding the policy and commit to follow the policy in the performance of your services on behalf of Wayside Friends Church.

  • Step 3: Background Check

    All applicants age 14 and older are required to undergo a criminal background check.

    Completed “Background Check Forms” are to be returned to office@waysidefriends.org.

  • Basic Safety Policy [ CLICK HERE]

    Wayside Leaders, Employees, and Volunteer Workers who work in any capacity (directly or indirectly) with children or persons with disabilities, shall consent to a criminal background check, receive abuse prevention training, and agree to the implementation of the Basic Safety Training.

  • The Wayside Full Safety Policy is currently being updated and reviewed by Wayside leadership and will available shortly.

    As mentioned in the Basic Safety Policy, the “Sexual Offender Chaperone Policy” is established in full in section _ (pg. _).

  • Injury Report Forms are located in the Wayside Main Office to encourage direct communication.

    “Any injury that may require medical treatment beyond simple first aid should be given immediate attention. The parents or guardians of the injured person should be notified immediately, along with the ministry worker’s coordinator or supervisor. If warranted by the injury, emergency medical personnel should be called and an Injury Report Form should be completed. “ - Wayside Basic Safety Policy, section: Injuries or Illness, D (pg. 3)

  • Suspected Abuse or Neglect Report Forms are located in the Wayside Main Office to encourage direct communication.

    “Adults working with children or persons with disabilities must immediately report to the specific program supervisor any concerns that appear to be abusive or potentially inappropriate and a Suspected Abuse or Neglect Report Form must be completed. WFC is obligated to follow, and be in compliance with, all state reporting laws.” - Wayside Basic Safety Policy, section: Immediate Reporting (pg. 3)
