Life Worth Living | Book Study

  • Wayside Community Room [upstairs] 1716 Villa Road Newberg, OR, 97132 United States (map)

This will be the 2nd session of the group discussion on the book, Life Worth Living led by Gregg!

Co-authored by one of Gregg’s favorites, Miroslav Volf, the book comes after teaching a popular undergraduate class at Yale for almost a decade. Rather than tell you how to live, it asks a bunch of little questions that leads up to the big question: how do we live a flourishing life? How would we define it? How would we pursue it? The book is very readable and leads us through how various religions and philosophies have grappled with those questions.

NOTE FROM GREGG
“It seems like country and world events are challenging. How do we live well? What should we hope for? How do we respond to suffering? These are questions I’ve been thinking about a lot, and many philosophies and world religions have wrestled with them too.

Reading things outside of the Christian worldview I grew up with expanded my ideas of what was possible, and really made me think about what I believe and how I want to live. I lead a discussion group on this one other time, and it was a helpful thing to wrestle with it together.

Here's a podcast with Miroslav Volf that gives a good overview to maybe draw you in. Let’s wrestle together!”
